Substancia maps 288 psychoactive substances by how their subjective effects feel — not by chemistry, not by class — with dosing, pharmacology, interactions, and cited sources for every one of them.

Not a wiki mirror — a purpose-built visual interface, and a full pharmacology reference underneath it.
Every specimen placed by effect similarity, not alphabet or drug class — explore by feeling.
Dose ranges, duration arcs, tolerance, addiction potential, neurochemistry, and cited prose.
Fatal-interaction and carcinogenicity warnings pulled into their own boxed callouts — never buried.
Nearest specimens by shared effects, and separately by shared receptor targets — and where they disagree.
Any two specimens, side by side.
No account, no telemetry, no network calls beyond loading the bundled dataset.
Three views into the same specimen — the map, the plate, and the comparison.

Substancia isn't code-signed — a certificate costs several hundred dollars a year, and every cent this project has goes to keeping the app itself free instead. That means Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper will flag it as from an unrecognized publisher on first launch.
It's safe. On Windows, click More info → Run anyway. On macOS, right-click the app and choose Open. The source is public — verify it yourself any time.
Substancia will always be free — every specimen, every feature, for everyone. That only stays true if the work behind it is sustainable: compiling and cleaning a 288-specimen dataset, building the visual layer on top of it, and maintaining it across three platforms is real, ongoing work. Every dollar from Ko-fi goes back into keeping the app itself free instead of putting a price on it.
Nobody yet — this space is reserved for the people and companies who keep Substancia free. Individual sponsors get a name here; companies get a logo tier.
Also empty. Bug fixes, data corrections, and UI polish are all welcome — see the repo.
